Examines the impact of information technology on the financial performance of commercial banks, evaluating data from six different commercial banks in Germany and Spain. Trough the development of a fixed effect panel regression modeling and interpretation process , it was concluded that investment in information technology has a weak positive impact on the financial performance of a bank. Our results are robust to a variety of econometric tests and specifications.
